S and I watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on Friday night. Having read the book, I enjoyed it and largely thought the movie did a good job. Things "looked" a LOT like the way I had imagined it in my head, likely because the author did an amazing job describing the setting in each of the parts of the story. I was however really disappointed by the fact that the movie completely glossed over the rich character development that exists in the book. There is so much more depth to the characters in the pages of the book than there was in the movie. Again, having read the book I did not mind this too much but on several occasions I did pause the movie to explain what I thought S should know about the characters.
Here are some pictures that pretty much sum up my weekend:
Homemade tomato soup {recipe available here} and bacon cheddar biscuits {recipe available here} were a good late night dinner on Saturday night.
Stocked up on coffee for the coming weeks -- medium roast for making coffee in the coffee pot and espresso roast for my cappuccino machine-- and got myself a new travel mug so I can have hot coffee once I get to school {S "stole" my other Starbucks coffee mug and I have been using cheap freebie plastic ones that are always being offered at Law School by various organizations. Needless to say, after a 35 minute commute my coffee has been lukewarm at best by the time I get to school : ( }.
Thankfully, I am only taking three classes this semester. This is possible because I get 2 credits for being an editor on a law journal and 2 credits for my moot court competition. This weekend I focused on reviewing a little for two of my classes.
I cannot believe this is my last full week of class, quite possibly for the rest of my life. I have been in school for 20 consecutive years at this point and it is very strange to be almost to the end.
Happy Monday : )
