Happy Mother's Day

Every Mother's Day weekend growing up my Mom had two requests. (1) a home made card; and (2) that her children would help her plant flowers in the gardens. Though there were also breakfasts served in bed and gifts involved, Mother's Day inevitably entailed spending half a day gardening in the yard with Mom.

I emphatically detested gardening growing up, and dreaded spending a solid half day every year on Mother's Day digging in the dirt, pulling up weeds, and meticulously following all the steps to plant new flowers. Now that I am older and wiser, not only do I realize how selfish my lack of enthusiasm for our yearly tradition was, but I actually now LOVE gardening and wish I lived closer to my Mom so we could continue the tradition.

Nevertheless, I still try to stay true to it and when selecting a Mother's Day gift, and typically chose something garden related {usually plants/flowers!}.

So while some people may be making elaborate Mother's Day gift guides with luxurious gifts, these are the types of things I know my Mom would appreciate best:
