Patio Redesign

S and I love eating/entertaining outdoors in the summer. We currently have a great little backyard and patio, perfect for BBQs and lawn games {which we LOVE!!}.

This weekend, S brought all of our patio furniture outside and as we tackled a little bit of yard work/maintenance and enjoyed our first outdoors meals of the year, I couldn't help but fantasize about some things that I would love to add to our outdoor space to make it a little more charming and inviting:

I think pallet gardens are adorable and a great idea for renters like us who want to avoid digging up the lawn. I will be trying to get my hands on some pallets, and then I would like apply some teak oil to achieve a darker look on the wood. I am sure this is a DIY I will be attempting this summer. Speaking of teak oil, I need to pick some up to give our patio set a little TLC. Teak patio sets are certainly high maintenance but well worth it in my opinion. We need a new market umbrella because ours got too faded and I tossed it at the end of last year. I really like lime green because it will match our set of adirondack chairs. A deck box would be AMAZING to save the effort of carrying our patio cushions in and out each time we use them (so that they don't get soaked in rain/dew every night!). The succulent fountain is another DIY I want to do!!! I will be keeping my eyes open on craigslist for a fountain. The bird bath seems necessary because currently the birds bathe in Chase's bowl, which is adorable, but kind of icky. And I think the potted trees just make the space look so tidy and finished. Stay tuned because I will most definitely be on the hunt for/attempting some of these things and will most certainly post pictures when I do!
